Now for something different. Three of the WI Ladies including myself went to the Seven Hills WI in town and we made a pincushion. I knew they would be giving out the fabric and ribbons etc and we just had to bring a small jam jar. Well I took my own Twitterpated material from Stampin Up and the ruffle ribbon and organza one and even a Sycamore Street button and here are the results!!
At the WI this week we did a speed crafting event. There were three stations of crafting and one talk and example.
I demonstrated small cards using the owl punch and my members copied what I had done choosing their own waistcoats for the owls or making a chicken.
June showed everyone how to make a flower arrangement in a teacup - they looked really good.
Jean showed everyone her quilts and told them about the Linus charity where we make quilts for premature babies and children up to sixteen year olds. I am very proud of the quilts I made for them and we put a label on the quilts which I always kiss and then send on.
Christine taught the ladies how to crochet - some hadn't crocheted for years and others were new to the craft but I hope it gives them the incentive to carry on.
We had fifteen minutes at each table and it was an excellent evening with everyone really happy and going home with items they had made.
